sedgwick leaves
sedgwick leaves

this was a luck shot really. one day after all the leaves were down, a strong, all day wind blew all the leaves in the neighborhood into my parents’ front yard in downtown sedgwick. this day was calm and sunny only to bring wind from a different direction the next day which took the leaves away to another yard. i wanted to preserve this image of small new england towns and the giant old hardwoods that grow along the edge of the streets. With highways and roads being widened all the time to help relieve the increasing traffic flow, these old trees, a sure sign you are in new england, are being cut down. i hope these maples stay for a while.
