pegotty's boom
pegotty’s boom

i learned to sail at the wooden boat school in brooklin and was spoiled rotten in beautiful boats. even today, fiberglass and aluminum make me sad. pegotty is an 1860 reproduction of a narragansett bay fishing boat. at 18' long and 9' wide, this gaff rigged catboat with rocks in the bilge, one halyard and one sheet was soothing and easy to sail.
